Trump's 'historic' visit to the middle east: much ado about nothing : Comments

By Alon Ben-Meir, published 26/5/2017

There is no doubt that the US remains the indispensable power in the Middle East, and just about every state in the region relies heavily on the US' political support and protection.

Takes me right back to my youth and the mighty steam engines of yesteryear Alon. Huffing and puffing enormously on a cold and frosty morning, then with mighty explosions of steam accompanied by the obligatory whistle/screaming banshee. The CARTHUMP WHOOF,CARTHUMP WHOOF, SCHREEM, piston driven wheels thunder prodigiously around at a million miles an hour, as the stalled train spins it mighty ten ton wheels on icy rails. Hurling the train down the line around an inch an hour.

Barely stretching the links.

Did you know after atomic energy, steam is the mightiest energy on the planet!

As long as the power is still in the US for now, other states has no choice rather than to depend on the US.

What did the author seriously expect, world peace in a week? What the trip did is get Trump acquainted with other leaders and size them up.

What is unfortunate is Merkel's tantrum.

No. What is unfortunate is Trump's selling arms
to the Saudis.

Foxy,

Bit of a knee jerk reaction there? Didn't you know that Islam is the most feminist religion?

Seriously, though I'm not a big fan of Saudi, the two main powers in the area are Saudi and Iran, and it is really the lesser of two evils. In addition with Russia in the background, no one wants the Russians to hold sway here.
