Some models claiming to be private enterprise, are just behemoth conglomerates attempting to monopolize a captive market! Where the principle of a fair go in rendered truly null and void!
The very foundation stones of capitalism are both competition and risk. And that doesn't exist in either debt laden speculators or monstrous monopolies. Be the private (cornered markets) or public institutions, without any motivation to improve or truly serve!
Menzies was at heart, I believe, a genuine social democrat? And genuinely interested in the nations prospects and ahead of all political considerations. Where bipartisan support backed good ideas, regardless where they originated.
Thus Menzies the man wept when political rival and genuine mate, Ben Chiefly died. Both men understood that politics was a contest of ideas, with the most practical, persuasive and pragmatic winning the day?
Anything else gives us the hopelessly divided rabble we call government in this quite massively over governed country, we call our Australia. We can do so much better by genuinely putting her and her peoples first.
And that could start with a long overdue bill or irrevocable rights! We stand almost alone as one of few remaining "democracies" without one
We are no longer a far flung prison or a colony and need to move forward and progress, if we are to realize our true potential as a untied we stand, country!
Note, untied can also become untied, with a slight change in the phonics, meaning we need to cut the apron strings, to become all we can be, without requiring official permission!
True liberal progression demands no less!
