Don't let Safe Schools become a millstone around our necks : Comments

By Greg Donnelly, published 7/2/2017

Why the Victorian Government cosied up to Roz Ward and stuck with her for as long as they did remains a mystery.

What an optimist Greg is, expecting Comrade Andrews and his merry band of commos to take advice. Andrews and his gang seem to have learned at the feet of that sinister old battle-axe, Joan Kirner. Anyway, once Labor has poisoned the wells, there is no going back, particularly in Victoria, where addiction to socialism and collectivism vies with South Australia in the race to the bottom. Letting that Ward person within coee of kids and their education was ideological madness at its worst.

Labor state schools are nothing but indoctrination factories. They probably have a similar system in North Korea. Now, of course, with no real conservative alternative anywhere in Australia, the removal of the Reds would not necessarily make any difference in delivering our children from ignorance and filth; the Australian political class is in permanent lockstep, interested only in itself and control to keep us docile.

Those who want to promote this program, including the Premier, are telling us a lot more about their attitudes to sex than about their attitudes to bullying.

If they wanted safe schools where children were free from bullying they would have programs that deal with all the forms of bullying that take place at school. It does not matter why you are bullied because the effects are the same on all children. When you single out one type of bullying you are in effect saying that bullying about sexuality does more damage than other types of bullying. You are saying that a person’s sexuality is more important than other characteristics that make up their humanity.

For people of minority sexuality’s it is more important but there is no good reason why it should be so. Minority sexuality should cause no more problems than minority religion or ethnicity or race. Those who want to push the agenda for minority sexualities show that they have sexuality completely out of proportion in terms of what makes a human being. We often hear them say “it is what you are” but it’s not. It is a part of what you are. Kids can see that others are given special attention because of their sexuality and begin to doubt whether or not that their own attitudes to sexuality are not intense enough. Their own natural responses to sex are questioned because adults are telling them that sexuality is a really big thing.

This is the danger when people like Roz Ward and others dramatise sexuality. For them it might be a big issue but for most kids it is not. These ‘educators’ are trying to convince themselves that sexuality is a big issue because it is easier than personally trying to get things in proportion like everyone else does.

Bring on the next election and the virtual plebiscite it will be around these clearly confected concerns? And given Cory Bernardi and his divisive machinations, perhaps far sooner than we think?

Simply put, a house divided against itself cannot stand! And given unresolvable differences, all that beckons is a divorce between the patently deluded, extremely unpopular hard right and the far more popular middle! Least they sink with the "titanic" that is the, riding on their electoral popularity coattails, right!

If the right are convinced they are right, all right then, let them test their convictions in the next election and on their preferred platform. Right?

The more moderate middle needs these troglobites, like a hole in the head and needs them gone, before they destroy a once great party.

That being so, Malcolm needs to call for a spill, then if still leader of a divided rabble? Needs to call an election and the candidate preferencing, that will see the right find a better fit in their natural home. With Cory's calamitous conservatives.

And let them stand or fall with him and everything like safe schools. When we the people get to have a say in, actually important to us, outcomes.

Even if that means a few patent homophobes need to pick themselves off the floor, dust themselves down, pick up their bat and ball and go home. As opposed to pretending to care about honest to goodness economic outcomes.

With them gone, so also all the proverbial millstones!

Safe schools isn't that bad, both parties support the program and it makes people feel included.

There are already several NSW High Schools that have very quietly included the Safe Schools Programme into their scheduling
