Is global banks’ exposure to global shipping being neglected by markets? : Comments

By Alec Coutroubis and Vince Hooper, published 1/11/2016

In our view, there is evidence of a huge asset bubble in global equity markets, bond markets and property since the commodity bust of 2015.

Shipping was a lot like houses? Couldn't lose money? Particularly on bulk freight forwarding!

So, as seems par for the course, banks, hedge and equity funds got in and pushed the PE numbers into double digits, with a consequent dividend downturn?

And not helped by America importing less and less oil?

We're not safe by any stretch, given our big four's exposure to foreign hedge funds?

Four of who have major positions (up to 15% ea.) inside all four? And only because of the alleged strength of our banks? Plus, Australian pollies asleep at the wheel as our own over inflated bubble has no other destination other than going somewhere to burst, with exposure to the English speaking world's highest (pumped up) house prices and predatory foreign hedge funds?

As usual our politicians will feel warm and comfortable like frogs being slowly brought to the boil! Until it's too late!

If we're going to be destroyed by debt? Better it be ours and used in massive nation building and insulating us from the (too much of a good thing) mad hatter investors, the like of who killed off the Celtic economic miracle!

But, just don't hold your breath waiting for this (mired in petty politics) lot on either side of the isle to act proactively! Just reactively, and then only when they've skin in the game?
Would that I were wrong!
