Nobel confusion: Ramos-Horta, Trump and world disorder : Comments

By Binoy Kampmark, published 28/10/2016

A Clinton presidency would hardly be that prudent, nor particularly wise, but that is the Ramos-Horta verdict, his own variant of an external endorsement that is bound to fall on deaf ears in the United States.

Would anyone listen to Ramos-Horta, one-time president of a tinpot island, a recipient of one of the meaningless prizes that are handed out like Smarties at a kid's party?

I am somewhat staggered at the ability of so many to ignore the massive weight of history behind Clinton corruption and the mess left behind from Hillary's time as Secretary of State and focus entirely on Trumps many failings.

Whilst the primary focus was on Bill Clinton there are some very interesting interviews around with the late Christopher Hitchins about the Clinton's, Youtube is a good place to start. He also wrote a book called "No One Left to Lie To" https://www.amazon.com/One-Left-Lie-Triangulations-Jefferson/dp/1455522996 which I've not read. Some claims that Hillary had a significant role in the silencing of women who spoke about against Bill Clinton's sexual abuses of them (including some credible rape claims).

Jill Stein the US Greens presidential candidate thinks that Hillary will start a nuclear war within 6 months. A good cut of it at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1NDL-URlBY and I've watched the full segment at http://www.jill2016.com but can't find the link to the full video at the moment.

A series of hidden camera videos from Project Veritas Action covering the behind the scenes tactics to cheat on US law and mislead voters http://projectveritasaction.com/ They may well have their own agenda and could have cut some bit's to change context but a watch of the videos will show that the explanations being offered to dismiss them don't hold water.

The push by some Clinton supporters to suggest that Trump is the one likely to start a nuclear war whilst at the same time focussing on Russian support for Trump. Seems extremely unlikely that Putin wants a nuclear war with the US and I'd place more credence in Russia's analysis of the risks than Clinton supporters.

For those thinking that Clinton was cleared by the FBI's probe into the use of a private server for official emails this isn't a bad example of how things seem to work when a Clinton is cleared by an investigation.

http://nypost.com/2016/10/24/clinton-ally-gave-500k-to-wife-of-fbi-agent-on-email-probe/

Any FBI agent fit to lead such a serious and politically loaded investigation would have known that the perception of conflict of interest (and I suspect the reality) meant that someone else needed to lead the investigation.

There are also reports that I've not got a sense for the credibility of that agents involved in the case have complained that lines of investigation blocked by the lead agent.

Horta is from East Timor's RULING CLASS?

Who gives a toss what "former president of Timor-Leste, José Ramos-Horta" thinks and says.

East Timor under the East Timorese Ruling Class is now one of the most dependent and corrupt countries in the world. It piles up oil revenue while demanding guilt-aid from everyone.

East Timor's English speaking ruling class fled Indonesia in 1974-75 when the Indonesians invaded. The poorer classes, who couldn't flee, were massacred by the Indonesians. The Ruling Class returned after Australia liberated East Timor in 1999.

After 1999 the Ruling Class imposed Portuguese (the former colonial master's language) on the East Timorese poor Imposition of Portuguese was/is designed to forcibly control and quarantine East Timor's poorer classes. Portuguese prevents them from threatening the privileges of the English speaking Ruling Class.

See the Portugues language of the privileged here http://www.nytimes.com/2007/07/31/world/asia/31timor.html :

Dili, East Timor in 2007 "The rumble of a generator and the whir of ceiling fans muffled the quiet words of a judge as he questioned a witness in a murder trial here one recent hot, still afternoon.

But even if they could have heard him, most of the people sprinkled through the little courtroom, including the defendant and the witnesses, could not have understood what he was saying.

The judge was speaking in Portuguese, the newly designated language of the courts, the schools and the government — a language that most people in East Timor cannot speak..."

A Clinton Presidency would be the worst thing that could happen to the US, except for one thing, a Trump Presidency!

And in a scale of comparable disasters, turn a survivable defeat into an absolute rout for the republican party!?
