This seems a sincere and understandable article but! This is the second time I have heard of there being two and three generations affected by war trauma. I hope this is not some sleazy attempt by the legal profession to tax some part of the suffering that happens?
They always end up the winner. I was at the Corruption Commission listening to Public Servants and their theft of our money and kept thinking why didn't the police just go out and arrest these people as they finished their evidence?
No shortage of lawyers at the hearings though and we are all picking up the tab for that too.

The behaviour of the author's father was tragic, shocking and hell for his family. The behaviour might have been caused by war experiences, it might not have been caused by those experiences.

Millions of men returned from wars and went on to lead ordinary, decent and good lives.

However, the author's story represents the real reasons and hopes most decent Australians express on Anzac Day.
