Look it's a simply thing not sure why you find it hard to understand, can Australian companies own similar assets in China? can Australians own land in China?

I fail to see what if any importance is placed on the particular locale of any foreign investor.

I mean what of Australian companies who've migrated to China? Are they in or out?

What of Chinese nationals who've entered as extremely wealthy economic migrants?

Personally, I think with the right reforms in place everyone with any real money would want to resettle here!? We'd have to beat them back with a stick!

Moreover, the foreign review board has had it's rules recently amended! And possibly enough protection?

Albeit, we could just take a leaf out of the Canadian book and simply ban most non resident foreigners from acquiring real estate!

Let them rent or lease like we currently force on the lower socio economic strata of Australians.

And if they want to invest, let them buy development bonds! That way we get the use of their money, but without their control!

And almost any boy and his dog can make a case for not selling any national asset to a foreign government, or an arm of any government! Be they Canadian, Chinese, American, Maltese, Vietnamese Venusian, or Martians replete with antenna!

How about a Gillian Triggs supporting the human rights of the Chinese abused by the Australian Racist Labor Party during the last election. When is she going to have a review and haul Foley before the Commission to answer for his crimes?
