Love, sex, disability and stereotypes : Comments

By Peter Gibilisco, published 27/8/2014

My title for this essay links these four terms: love, sex, disability, stereotypes. Why is it so strange to include the word 'disability' in this listing?

Yes Peter:
And while sex is great, particularly if you're lucky enough to find a truly understanding partner!
Just normal human physical affection is far and away, much more important!
We all of us need to be held, touched and caressed, just to develop normally, or indeed, beat the black dog, waiting around the corner?
But particularly, if increasing disability is gradually eating away at your remaining independence!
There are "Angels" out there, and for all you know, destiny may be directing one in your direction!
Ideally, one who has a little bit of devil as part of the personality traits as well, won't take no for an answer, and doesn't wait to be asked!
Disabled people can become incredibly shy about their needs, and especially, when surrounded by a less than kind or very judgmental society!
We all of us remain sexual beings, and right up to the day before we die!
Very best wishes, Rhrosty.
