OSB media strategy: motherhood statements, minimal content & tautology : Comments

By Kellie Tranter, published 11/7/2014

Australia has an obligation to impartially investigate allegations of torture or other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment, to criminally punish perpetrators, and to provide effective remedies (including compensation) to victims.

While the media strategy has taken the oxygen from the greens who would like to provide running condemnation, the reality is that this media silence is a key factor in the success of the operation particularly because of its sensitivity with Indonesia.

This media silence is not new in Australia, and police working on a case very really release sensitive information that might hinder the investigation. We never hear the media complaining about a police state when this happens, only when it is politically convenient for the left whingers.

‘morning Kellie,

Since the policies of the ALP/Greens along with support from Australia’s refugee advocates and much of our media were responsible for the deaths at sea of some 1,200 men, women and children, where would you like us to send the writs for criminal proceedings for culpable homicide and the resultant compensation claims?

Once we have cleared up the 1,200 murder charges we can get down to investigating the lesser cases of “torture or other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment”.

Some suggest that history will treat your hypocrisy in a poor light. Personally I think a custodial sentence might better trigger your conscience and when that finally happens, you will not sleep well for a very long time.

Swamping your culpability with emotive rhetoric will soon wear thin.

Regardless of who they are, or where they come from, arid, infertile Australia with 23.5 million, and rising rapidly, consumers does NOT need more people.

Compensation Kellie?
What for Kellie?
And given you're a Lawyer, and a professional refugee advocate?
Would that be on a no win no fee basis?
And would you require legal aid support for the duration, even if that meant working for your clients for the best part of a decade?
And at say 2500-5000 and hour, so called normal legal fees?
I assume and given we have around fifty thousand claimants waiting in a domestic queue; you'd have dozens of cases in train at any one time?
And just how do you expect to prove any claim, if almost every complainant arrived without any identifying documentation!
Evidence Kellie, evidence!
Rhrosty.

So its MARTIAL LAW so what?

Hi Kellie

Is it not Right and justified that the intrinsically Humanitarian issue of Refugees be placed under Martial Law
(with all its secrecy) in Australia?

After all our brave men (and one token woman) of the Navy and Customs manfully carry loaded assault rifles onto refugee boats in International Waters - and then Imprison said refugees - until they are Forcibly repatriated.

What's wrong with that?

I can fix this all very quickly. Tribunal of everyday retirees for any of these "Refugees" and decide whether they are genuine. No lawyers even allowed in the building never mind the tribunal. No money so the lawyers will have to go onto the next scam.
Here is a good one Kelly what about you address barristers who put in no tax returns despite earning big money. Every so many years they go bankrupt owing the tax man millions. Sort them out and then knock on my door, there's a good gurl!
