Should Prabowo become president the progressives have only themselves to blame.

Excellent article. Only about a week to go till the election.

Any win or undermining activity by Prabowo Subianto - if it means "Indonesia Crisis" - might boost Tony Abbott's popularity - a la rally round the boss.

Meanwhile Mr Graham is lucky he has a Kiwi passport. After writing such a critical article he may need to beat a hasty, post-election, retreat out of Indonesia.

Aaand... the CIA, US multi nats,& neo-cons etc didn't see this one coming?

US Base to hold approx 35,000 troops currently being constructed at Mandorah across the harbour from Darwin LNG (Conoco-Philips), with INPEX LNG almost completed. Proposal for Subic Bay sized fleet facility in Joseph Bonaparte Gulf under consideration.

Sat in the old Chiefs & Petty Officers Mess at HMAS Tarangau as a brat in 1969, listening to crusty old sailors warning about Indonesia back then.

As a former ADF member during the 1970's & 1980's it disturbed me and my comrades in arms greatly to know about, and participate in 'Exercises' where Kopassus were present, observing our tactics - and in those days their maroon bereted forces numbered around 20,000 troops.

We are about to reap the whirlwind.
