Qalandiya Checkpoint: the juncture for Palestinian collective punishment : Comments

By Raffaele Piccolo, published 19/6/2014

The people passing through the Qalandiya checkpoint were being collectively punished for the kidnapping of the young Israeli Jewish students, a crime of which they had no knowledge or involvement.

Collective punishment is a war crime, and its use today in retaliation for the alleged kidnapping of three Israeli students is merely another in the long list of war crimes perpetrated by Israel on their Palestinian neighbors.
I say alleged because until they surface we do not know what has happened to the missing boys. The possibility of an Israeli false flag operation has to be considered, especially as Hamas is apparently being blamed. The timing is suspect, what with the new alignment between Hamas and the Palestinian Authority putting a new look on that whole conflict.

Clever people, those propagandists. They take increased security after a vicious crime and call it punishment; but the punishment in Israel is more likely to come in courts and jails for convicted perpetrators when they catch the kidnappers.

In Palestinian society, the criminals get treated as heroes, and those who disagree or dont pay the due to terrorists, whether PLO, HAMAS or Hezbollah, get a bullet in the head.

It could only ever happen in occupied territory, where the occupier, exercises, almost absolute control!
I guess we know how the Nazi SS would react, if any of their number, were allegedly kidnapped by the "resisting Jews" during WW11?
What's next, tanks at the barricades and asking those queuing, to just attend their workplaces, to prove they're not hiding those kidnapped kids in their back pockets.
I remember well, just how close the two state solution became to reality, only to be crueled, time and again, by dissidents on both sides of the quarrel.
Maybe the Israelis, could respond, by [eye for an eye] shooting a few more stone throwing kids?
That'll ease the current tensions, won't it?
Rhrosty.

Collective punishment is a war crime is it?

When Martin Bryant shot dead 35 people at Port Arthur, the then Prime Minister, John Howard, bestowed collective punishment on all sporting shooters in Australia by making them hand in their semi automatic weapons. Where was your moral bloody outrage then?

The singular feature about you trendies is your selective moral virtue with its outrageous double standards.
