Turnbull has been ahead of Abbott as preferred leader since well before the election. I think research has shown that we prefer leaders who talk intelligently, not in idiotic sound bites and mindlessly repeated slogans, which is why Rudd rated much higher than his performance as Prime Minister warranted. Tony Abbott persists in addressing us at primary school level, which can be interpreted in two ways: either he is stupid, or he thinks we are. Neither makes him attractive as Prime Minister.
