Youth entrepreneurship: an economic model for job creation by youth, for youth : Comments

By Jordan Wren, published 26/5/2014

In 2013, 13.1% of global youth, people aged 15 to 24 years, were not employed. This was triple the rate of adult unemployment.

The only way to provide more employment, is to grow the economy. And that just not a hard ask, except for Governments caught in their own ideological straight jackets.
And the affected youth could actually change that by getting organised through the ballot boxes, as block votes.
Putting the can't or won't do anything incumbent last of the ballot paper, and his preference partners, next, is the only way to compel political change and a change of direction.
And very organised young people, who act/vote together, as the largest demographic, have much more power than they believe!
They just need to harness it!
The first part of growing a larger economy, is through long overdue, and serially resisted, real tax reform.
If virtually the only tax was a single stand alone, unavoidable tax, we would share the load with those not carrying any, spread and dramatically lower the load on the rest of us.
If we could just get the 95% of off-shored Australian corporations still doing the same or more business here, to pay a reasonable fair share of a common burden?
Then we could have the lowest tax rate in the western would, and create a queue to relocate here!
The second part of the equation is cheap publicly provided energy.
We have copious gas and even more copious cheaper than coal thorium!
Rolling out mass produced thorium reactors, alongside the industrial estates, would literally halve the cost again, given we would have removed transmission lines, and indeed, their upkeep!
Thus we would have created an environment, where the high tech industries queued, and brought to these shores the high tech jobs, their high tech R+D and their higher pay scales, to our future!
This is the only way to reverse current trends, and put many more young people into truly fulfilling work!

Footnote:
We don't have the luxury, of wasting any more time!
Young people everywhere, get your act and your stuff together and get busy making changes.
A couple of state elections with very surprising outcomes, would send the first message, or salvo!
Yes, it won't work, but particularly, if you never ever try it!
If you're in, your part of the solution!
If you're out, part of the problem, and indeed, your own worst enemies!
I mean, just how difficult can it be to use the social media, and then challenge yourselves to get up off your (-!-), and start making a difference!
It's not someone else's problem!
