Well, Captain America seems to replace God for the Godless, yet still need someone who appears to have a social conscience, and has the power of inherently good onside, to conquer all evil, however dastardly.
That said, love of money or attachment to just material things, in vast over abundance, is never represented as the ultimate soul destroying evil, but something everyone must have?
As is the case for marvel comics!?

What I could not get over in the film is the total waste of public money - billions upon billions spent on those floating gun ships which crash hours after launch, causing more billions of dollars of damage to buildings (I assume Washington) that they fall on, not to mention what must have been a horrendous death toll..

AGW admittedly wastes almost as much money but fortunately for no knock on effect in buildings damaged and people killed.. and without an effective international agreement on limiting emissions it is a completely waste, no matter what you think of the science..

Tony Abbott must be laughing all the way to the bank literally. Clive won't allow him to spend on 'direct ' action, won't allow him to pay rich woman to shove off child rearing responsibilities. The carbon tax ripoff is almost ended.

It is quite ironic to see a movie based on a comic-book fable being used in this article to prop up another fable. The article itself is a comedy full of unfacts with tentacled arms thrashing all over the place thrown in to distract the reader.

We even get treated to such silliness as claims that 2013 was not the hottest year on record in Australia http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/change/index.shtml#tabs=Tracker&tracker=timeseries&tQ%5Bgraph%5D=tmean&tQ%5Barea%5D=aus&tQ%5Bseason%5D=0112&tQ%5Bave_yr%5D=0

But then what should we expect from Anthony Cox? Fiction is what he specialises in.

Great article, with the added attraction one can take, that the UN, & the IPCC in particular, belong in a comic book. Actually I can't imagine any comic author could ever conceptualize anything as evil as the IPCC.

Still, I must be slowing down, it took half a page before I cottoned on to where the thing was going.
