This is a pretty bland article that could have come direct from the "China Chamber of Commerce".

How China's workers and peasants suffer under this attractive environment for business isn't covered.

Thousands die in coal mines. Peasants are poor, urban workers have a little more and guys like Gu along with (current and former) Communist Party officials are doing very well thankyou very much.

If Gu's article is anything to go by I wouldn't buy his book.

Plantagenet, the peasants in China suffered a lot more in their previously rural environments.Generally their standard of living is accelerating in the cities, and that is why they flock there.

The Chinese are intelligent, highly motivated and very determined. They will be the next economic world powerhouse and there will be positives and negatives for us all.

We will indeed live in the notion of "Interesting Times"

Personally, I think that anyone who does business with China is simply hastening their own enslavement. The history of the violent and murderous Chinese totalitarian government clearly shows that it cannot be trusted to do anything but continue to be untrustworthy. China needs to leave Taiwan alone and stop threatening it. If Taiwan wants to be part of the mainland let it do so on its own. It should be against the law to force Taiwan to join the mainland against its will. If China persists on pushing this thing with Taiwan, it is going to result in World War III and their is no way that it would be limited to conventional weapons. Their unusually rapid military build up, especially the missils aimed at Taiwan, and acqusition of nuclear weapons points to an attempted surprise military attack on the United States and its allies in the region sometime in the next few years. I, for one, am starting to prepare, as best I can, for a nuclear confrontation to begin between China and the U.S. before long. Good luck to the rest of you.

Gentlemen,
You all spoke as if you had been China. But on the contrary, in fact none of you even know how to come to China.

Of course China is a developing country, however, the people are all working to build a developed country.

Yes, there are poor peoples in China. Can you say there is no poor people in America, England? Perhapse people in those countries are living in worse conditions than people in China are.

There is one thing we can not ignore, Chinese people love their country as they love their mothers. People in Taiwan are the brothers and sisters of the people in mainland. If your children were stolen by some other people and they forgot you, will you say let it be while actually you love them and don't want them be lonely? Even they are doing things that hurt you, you will do all you can to bring them back to good. Right?

People want peace. There won't World War III. God knows.
