If petrol prices, for example, skyrocketed overnight to over $2.50/litre, I can't imagine our Federal Government would leave it with a 'no comment.'

Ross raises some very good points, and I certainly agree that housing affordability in Australia is a major issue. But given the substantial evidence that much of the problem lies in red tape and regulation, inviting the third tier of government to become more active in this sphere risks making things worse, not better.

40% of a house/land package is made up of Govt taxes and charges. They restrict the supply of land to keep prices high and keep us as debt slaves for private banks.

We live in a Oligarchy where big private interests and Govt collude to screw the masses.
