The use of crowdsourcing by Fairfax Media to uncover more MP expenses rorts is an example of the risks associated with media disengagment; idle hands find things to do and these are not always helpful to the government.

The Rudd-Gillard-Rudd government at least slowed the boats by sending the economic refugee opportunists to live in PNG where they will not want to stay.

As for media, Mr Abbott blatantly used it to get publicity to be elected, public money for travel and accommodation included.
Now he shuts media out.

As a swinging voter, self interest comes to mind.

Shorten sharpen the debate, you are kidding aren't you?

The only thing he has to throw into any debate is mud, as that is all there is in his mind.

The best thing about him becoming opposition leader is it means there is now stuff all chance of him becoming PM.

fairfax seems to have dropped the 'rorts'story now that Tanya, Conroy and others have been taking families skiing and to Lord Howe Island etc. Poirot especially has lost her typing skills. Oh well!
