Syrian Free Army signing own death warrant : Comments

By David Singer, published 16/9/2013

This could well signal the end of armaments supplies, funding and promised diplomatic support from America and the West for the Syrian Free Army.

The free Syrian Army has nothing left to lose!
It does need to act and speak with a single united voice! The one problem that effectively prevents empathic nations from supplying more help, arms and equipment!
The only ones signing their own death warrant are the Assad regime, when they chose to resort to chemical warfare against unarmed civilians!
The Sunni rebels outnumber the Assad sympathizers 5 to 1! And given the atrocities already perpetrated, only increased Sunni outrage and enmity.
This struggle can only ever continue until the Assad regime accepts exile or is defeated.
Defeat will also include some of the bloodcurdling brutality the Assad regime dished out!
Clearly the Assad regime is using the delays to move some of its most dangerous chemical weapons arsenal, to sympathetic neighboring states, who will also need to be dealt with one day.
The west does need to pick and support a side.
That side needs to be the more moderate Sunnis, who have even more to lose than the west, in any Middle East conflict!
As some might say, my enemy's enemies are also my friends!

"America and Russia must now both remain focused on collecting and destroying all chemical weapons in Syria - in whoever's possession they happen to be," says the Singer.

Whose interests are being served here, you may ask yourself? Israel's of course. Israel is anxious over other nations in the region having or acquiring chemical weapons which of course it has in addition to its large arsenal of nukes and its sophisticated delivery systems.

Neither Singer nor Israel cares about those killed in the gas attack by forces yet unknown. Not a scrap!

No, like the U.S., Israel only cares about its own interests.

Anything that advances them is kosher with them!

Certainly Syrian chemical weapons acquired by rebel or Hezbollah forces might be a dangerous result for the entire Middle East and Western targets.

The hideous weapons at the command of the warmongering U.S. and its sycophantic Western Allies must be a million times more dangerous than a few stockpiles of sarin gas, Pete.

We need to put things into perspective for a change instead of puffing up the threat posed by so-called terrorists while forgetting to mention massive Western arsenals!

Our world is awash with weapons thanks mainly to the Yanks, the British, the French, etc.

Dear David G.,

<<Whose interests are being served here, you may ask yourself? Israel's of course.>>

It's not that simple and one-dimensional:

What we see in this article is an expression of the new, unspoken, alliances in the middle-east:

The sane-Israeli camp recognise the fanatics of Shiite Iran and its satellites (Hezbollah and Assad) as their enemies, just as these are also the enemies of Jordan, Saudi-Arabia and the rest of the sane Sunni Arab nations, even Egypt. As such, for example, Saudi-Arabia gave its silent consent for Israeli planes to attack Iran through its territory.

The Israeli-settlers on the other hand, are fanatic extremists like their Shiite brethren. The one thing they fear most is peace in the middle-east, where they would lose both their homes and their faith. They therefore find the Shiites as their natural allies.

None would openly admit it of course, but as Singer is pro-settlers, it is no wonder that he is also pro-Assad.

Yeah you're right David

All those AK47s and RPG7s, used by all sides in the Syrian War, were clearly not made in the usual Russian and Chinese factories

but cunningly made by your constant 2 Minutes Hate* - the West.

I'm puzzled why you live here in US and UK dominated Australia?

Instead of the Russia or China - that you never criticize?

Cheers

Pete
