#...When that happens, government becomes about closed elites taking advice from unrepresentative interest groups, the views of which are at best single-minded and at worst short-sighted…#

...And so, the role of social media becomes the new age equivalent of the “Sydney Domain”, and hopefully also giving lobbyists a run for their collective money; placing the citizen and his views in a more open perspective. Fingers crossed for Democracy.

If only we could get rid of political donations (bribes) we would be able to elect a government more representative of the needs of the people.
