As Mao wrote, to die for one's own interests is as light as a feather, but to die for the people is heavier than Mount Tai, wherever that may be.

To be a radical means to ra-ra for one's own interests. To be genuinely progressive, means to be prepared to fight for justice, in the interests of other people besides one's 'own'.

The people of present-day Namibia were fighting in a just cause, and Presgrave was one of the few genuine progressives around to support them. He deserves a statue, maybe in Hurstville.
