Running a media company is a business, they are created to make money for the owner. Nobody believes anymore about the supposed ethics of the press. Journalism costs money which eats into profits, why not just publish "new" from cheap sources like AP and even better free ones likes press releases. Then you can simply copy and paste into your publication, maybe change a few words here and there and your done.

Thank goodness for the internet, just be sure to read a lot of blogs that challenge your world view . Once again the internet has the jump on old media in its diversity of views.

The Herald has become very reluctant to use the words 'Islamic' or 'Muslim' in connection with terrorist attacks and other atrocities, to the extent that historians of the future, reading the articles in our Newspaper of Record, are going to find it very hard to work out just what all the killing and destruction was actually FOR. Of the six 'honest serving-men' of journalism, 'Who' seems to have been given the sack.

The mind of the average Australian citizen is filled with: naked truths, occasional truths, half-truths, bits of truth, blatant propaganda, B.S., white-lies, half-lies, 100% lies, fictions, religious fantasies, delusions, etc.

It is no wonder that many folk are confused and turn their minds off. Permanently.

Such people are easy-meat for cunning politicians and greedy Robber Barons.

Another missing T word is torture.
If carried out by the USA it is an "enhanced interrogation technique" but if carried out by a non US ally then it is torture.
