The Julia Gillard who sniffs at private schools in her maiden speech is now their greatest friend.

Little wonder there is an identity crisis? We used to led the world in education excellence, but have slipped down the comparative ladder in recent years?
Almost in inverse proportion to, and starting with Howard's increased funding for private schools.
The way to reverse this trend is to emulate the Finns and support universal school funding, equality in education outcomes; and, bench marked best practise!

Read the PM maiden speech and you'll see that Donnelly is using great poetic liscence to then make his disparaging remarks about Gillard. Yes Gillard decreed the elitist nature of schools, but not their right to deliver a high quality education which she then went on to argue should be across all schooling systems. But Donelly knows this and chooses to merge Gillard's attack on elitism with an attack on education quality. Has Mr Donnelly ever put up an arguement about the education rights of the working poor? Absolutely not. Its not in best upper middle class interests to do so.

Juliar has form in saying whatever is required before the election, and then doing exactly the opposite.
