In terms of individual freestyle events, however, Australia’s failure to win male or female event matches 2008, 1984, 1980, 1976, 1952 and 1948.

The swimmers fell well below the media's expectations, hell so what the media fell well below mine.

I ask you could 9 have done a worst job at the their coverage? I found the lego coverage on youtube better. Thank goodness for the internet.

I think we aught to be thankful for what we are getting now.

Look at the history of track, & you will see we were right up there in the amateur days. It was after the professional era, & the discovery of athletics by africans, where ever they live, that we disappeared of the scene, apart from the odd exception.

Just wait until they discover swimming, & we will just have horsing around & sailing left to us. Hell we can't even shoot straight any more, with gun or bow. I blame John Howard for that!

I do have to agree with you somewhat Kenny. It is obviously cheaper to conduct interviews, than pay for footage of actual events. I now have Mr Bolt linked with our Julia. Instant change of channel at the merest hint of them appearing. Fawning journos I do not find attractive, about the same as their subjects.

The excuses will be far more entertaining than the games.
The first jokes are already overdue or am I out of touch ?

In my opinion, the fact that we seem to 'need' excuses is far more telling than the excuses themselves.
