I was stunned to see that Lea referred to Robin Farquharson of blessed memory. We went to the same schools but as he was 7 years older never quite over-lapped, and later I succeeded him as a temporary lecturer at the University in Salisbury, this time we did overlap briefly; then I met him once or twice in London. I am a huge fan of his prize-winng book Theory of Voting (Blackwell 1969) - and also of his Drop-Out (Penguin 1968). Tragic end to a life of brilliant promise.
