Should Santa reward or punish agriculture and regional Australia this Christmas? : Comments

By Mick Keogh, published 20/12/2011

Deciding whether or not Santa should reward or punish agriculture and regional Australia is a bit of a challenge, because like the proverbial curate’s egg, both have been good in parts over the past twelve months.

yes..they grow our food
but that nitrogen...they put into the dirt
over half of that...!

..convets to nitrouse oxide..[laughing gas]
that is 80 times worse per part
than c02

methane too
from grenies 'home composting'

addin..the clearing of the amazon to grow soy
[plus that nitrous ioxide..!]

tax processed food
think of the heat energy to make canned food alone

fresh food..balances itself out
but processed food...and oil tar..or methanol...or just 'processing corn fuel..into ethonol...[as bad as burning bush/shub...[very not enmergy efficient]...far worse than burning 'clean coal']

anyhow...punish the right primary produces
clear felling forrests...or stealing water...
not for food

them little absurdities..like soy
need to be made carbon neutral

soy latte's need pay double
heck the more you use..the more you true poluters must pay

carbon is the basis of life
but c02 is closer to spirit...to tax it is the crime

a mono food crop can be taxed
as its system is destructive..but does make up the basis of our food

but dont forget to count in processing cost
in the end we cant eat a tax

Everybody sing:

The other man's grass is always greener
The sun shines brighter on the other side...
