The forthcoming ALP National Conference in December 2011 is a great opportunity for the ALP and the Gillard Government to abandon the discriminatory, unjust and unsustainable foreign policy on the Republic of Macedonia's right to self-identification under its constitutional name. Gillard and the ALP need to face the fact that the time for playing political games over Macedonia's name issue is well and truly over. The Australian Macedonian community and its supporters demand a fair and respectful policy towards Macedonia and its diaspora in Australia. Failure to innovate will send a strong signal to the Australia community that Gillard and the ALP are more interested in appeasing disgraced ultra-nationalists from the bankrupt Hellenic Republic than promoting an independent and nuanced foreign policy in support of Australia's national and international interest. Unlike, the USA, UK, China, Russia, India, Malaysia, Singapore and 130+ countries, Australia can not ignore fundamental rights of sovereign nations to self-identification. Gillard and the ALP should embrace innovation, fresh thinking and new leadership from the Australian community if they expect any further support.

Which eyes? Will Mr Rudd and Ms Gillard see eye to eye? The Labour party is so divided it is incapable of renewal. Will they continue to defend/support union money being used for prostitutes, seeing people drowned in boats due to pig headedness. Will Ms Gillard maintain her promise to keep marriage normal?

I'm just so tired of this perpetual trying to make the ALP look competent. It's a waste of time & money for them & even worse for us.
