Banning the first amendment : Comments

By banning books that people perceive to be 'dangerous', we are breaching the United States of America's first amendment.

It’s sad that people from across the political spectrum seem so ready to resort to censorship to suppress ideas they disagree with. It’s also telling that the books people want to suppress include such important works of literature.

I’m reminded of the Roma Catholic Church’s index of books forbidden to Catholics, whose prohibitions included Dante, Descartes, Voltaire, Zola, Sartre and Graham Greene

I concur. Then again, the Twilight books are so bloody awful that maybe banning them is warranted - in the interests of taste rather than morality.
