This year marks the 20th Anniversary of Macedonian Independence. It is an opportune time for Australia to do the right thing and recognise the Republic of Macedonia under its legitimate constitutional name as has been done by well over two thirds of nations in the UN.

... “Separatist” causes will soon be the universal call in Europe as the Euro unravels. Will the new Europe to emerge from the financial crises, which continues, hold the same appeal to Macedonia? And where does Macedonia fit in the scheme of things, now Greece is effectively bankrupt? The question is “Who needs who the most”? with a per capita GDP $4.431 to $26.910 Greece’s way.

...I would ask the question, what is the effective advantage of Independence for Macedonia? From the recent flow of articles in OLO, it appears to be simply based on the subjective argument of race relations between Greece and Macedonia
