By Bill Potts, published 26/5/2011

Queensland police have no idea when it comes to the Internet, and citizens should be ware.

Bill, I think Constable iPlod's understanding of the internet was shown to be just fine in Operation Gatekeeper.... The case about which you are writing shows mistakes were made (and that is of course cause for concern), but it doesn't show that the police are struggling to keep up with modern technology. Difficult issues are complex issues, is there anything really new here about that difficulty?

An interesting article but you ignore the fact that the photograph was obtained illegally. The journalist was free to write about what happened but should not have used the stolen image. He could have illustrated his article with a stock photo and nobody could object.

It is true though that the police could have handled it a bit more tactfully.
