A dog whistle loses its power when it becomes audible to everyone.

Another article confirming Mike Carlton's observation...The Wally Walking Wabbott presides over a monkey see monkey do outfit of xenophobic racists draped in the colours of One Nation and garnished with a Great Big Drop of strawberry jam to help the medicine go down.

"The dog whistling which characterised John Howard in the 1980s and assisted his electoral success in 1996 needs to end." What "dog whistling" did John Howard do in the 80s? Or is this a throw away line we are meant to swallow because it is about John Howard and therefore any slur is acceptable .. that's "dog whistling" buddy, you clearly assume he was unpopular and that everyone will salivate (sorry, couldn't resist) at the opportunity to once again relive the good old hate.

PM John Howard is no longer in office but we continue to get "dog whistling" from the left .. and constant harping about something they clearly don't recognize as doing themselves.

This article is a "dog whistle" to try to bring attention to an alleged bias in the right of the coalition, to create a perception that is not seen by most Australians. It will of course attract the Howard and Abbott haters .. oh .. there you go, one already.

PM John Howard was immensely popular and loved, up until his fatal misjudgment at the end, no matter .. I saw queues a block long in Brisbane recently of well wishers waiting in line for a book signing.

You may hate him, but many do not, many remember his well measured commitment to principles, of his own, not a bunch of faceless political hacks who analyze every moment in life to see if there is profit to be made politically from the coalition.

"dog whistle" indeed.

The gut wrenching scenes of those drowning will not be forgotten by those who witnessed it. It is an absolute disgrace that a Government that has encouraged these people to come here by atrocious policies is not being scrutinized by Fotis instead of his obvious hate for a Prime Minister that has made his followers look like amateurs. The funeral would likely not to have taken place if Howard was still PM.

Isn't it a pity that these multicultural types can't hear the dog whistles. That's the ones calling them back to where their policies may be appreciated.

I am sick of these peanuts attacking me for my opinions, in my own home.

If they don't like the people who have payed for them to take a step up in the world, they are most welcome to try somewhere else, where the residents are more to their liking.

Why they want to stay here with the dreadful types they found here, I can't imagine.

Runner,
Please explain? ? Are you saying Australians are at fault ? I was led to believe that Afghans boarded a boat to try & get into Australia by the back door ?
