Sad to see such a big effort in life for the sake of others and the common good attracts so little attention from OLO readers. The time of year has a lot to do with that no doubt but Ahmed Faruque deserves better recognition for his efforts. Regards to his family and friends and you can be rightly proud of his life and work.

Thank you Jefferson for sharing Ahmed's life.

It takes a special person to be a cab driver, particularly a non-owner driver given the night shifts, risking their lives on a low income to feed their families and interacting with all walks of life in highly populated cities.

The fact that Ahmed chose to selflessly be proactive and sacrifice his days off to lobby safety and better working conditions for all cab drivers in NSW demonstrates that until we know a person well, we have no idea what our fellow Australians [many of whom are new immigrants or arrived as refugees] contribute to our society.

God our Father bless Ahmed's family easing their grief.
