A media ecosystem is an apt metaphor. There's no doubt there's been a media climate change. In the new ecosystem new and old species are scrambling for a niche. The great thing is that instead of watching from afar we can and are participating.

media ecology..*NEW*..

its funny..[sad]...that a 17?..year old girl
can put up pictures of studs from afl..and be jumped on from a great height...[suppeana'd..via her web log..in qld]...and trialed in another juristiction..[vic]..heart of the afl..clique..

to set preceedants..that will affect us all

thats the ...'new'..ecology

here we have a child..entrapped..by lawyers..and law
and the media has a field day..

look at it this way
we can have womans weakly/pix..people..even the mal-borne..'truth'
picture revealing pictures of princess dianne..or some other starlett..with a pink-pointer..pointing out of her blouse...and lawyers ignore it..

but there is a young child..publishing..on her web log
opictures of aduklt footy players...doing the things these thugs do
and she gets jumped on from a great height

there is your ''NEW'..media ecology

forget wiki-leaks...[[plenty jumping in to help poor julian]
but when its some silly girl...being grossly and publicly abused

the bullies are excused
and the civil rights lawyers go and hide

but worse..this precedant..shall reverberate through out time
no more summons..via the legal process...

just a note on ya blog..your served
that cant be legal

then she is is qld
EXPECTED..to go to MAL-born...when she blogged from qld

talk about the new law ecology..forget julian..and the new media ecology..there is a 17?..year old..rewriting the laws..of blogging..as we speak

MELISSA DEITZ <with public and private domains so intertwined every corner of power is illuminated and a potential target for exposure.>

Not every corner of power Melissa, only in the freedom permitting West. In many other not so open countries around the world Julian Assange would have quietly disappeared never to be seen again after the first leaks appeared.

This is the whole problem with this Wikileaks hero cult. America is a soft target, Julian Assange would never have had the guts to do this in Iran,North Korea or communist Russia where they kill any journalists who report on Russian human rights abuses in Chechnya, let alone permit non-government control of the internet.

However I do agree with you that the main stream media is often frightened to print the out and out truth for fear of offending big segments of it’s readership or simply presents a story from their own way of looking at things. In this respect what you say is true that the internet is a valuable tool for more outspoken and less politically correct opinion.

Contrary to the view of Julian’s supporters it won’t stop wars or change the world though, it would have to be given free reign in all countries not just America.
