Well, it would be safe to say that this is totally counter to the pratices of Murdoch, possibly the most disliked person in the world of media who has used the philosophy of 'anything goes' so long as the result is of benefit to him. Such things as quality, honesty , integrity and other characteristics have been long since sacrificed for profit and power.
His eventual passing may allow a level of truth to find its way back on to the pages of his publications, but it may take some time to shed the submissive and entrenched ideas of many sycophants on The Australian who now follow the right wing militaristic thinking of his financiers and controllers in Israel. The skills developed by the likes of Sheridan are evident in matters of international reporting where news items carrying philosophies contrary to the ideas of Murdoch, are turned 180 degrees into some political pap or discarded entirely to suite the climate as dictated from his New York headquarters.
No employee of Murdoch was ever going to be allowed to be his own man and the compliance offered by successive governments over time, both here and internationally, delivered to Murdoch the arrogance to ride roughshod over anyone with original ideas and initiative. The actions at The Herald Sun, control of many sports broadcasting rights, the Melbourne Storm story being a classic case and all managed by the Melbourne-based John Hartigan, has taken the organisation from an entrepreneur of some value to a group preoccupied with ownership and control, contrary to the interests of the citizens of this country, of which Murdoch thankfully is no longer one.
Sadly the Murdoch control remains for the time being.
The future of someone like Bruce Guthrie will certainly survive and prosper after the involvement with News and the success of his action against that disliked ex-Australian Murdoch was applauded throughout the country, rightfully so.
