Hard decisions to reform government spending in an efficient and effective way will be needed in the future.

We have an economy driven by the commonwealth but as a CONSTITUTIONALIST I am not aware this was within the federal scheme at time of federation.
.
There is a lot more wrong with what is going on and we must go back to the roots of the constitution and then make sure that powers used by State/Federal government are and remain to be as permitted by the constitution.
.
For example the planned SUPER TAX would not be constitutionally valid because it is not a tax for the whole of the Commonwealth.
.
We have to much political slanging matches and nothing that deals with what is constitutionally appropriate.
.
Rudd for all his idea’s to deal with a financial crisis ended up spending billions on project for which there was no constitutional powers and this is ultimately where the defect lies because no matter which political party will be in power they all will be on a spending spree outside constitutional powers and unless we start curtailing this we will be heading to disaster!
.
Pensioners who worked whole their lives till old age should not be forced to explain let alone be controlled how they spend their monies while politicians retire with huge amount of moneys upon which constitutionally they are not entitled upon.
.
Stop the rot and we might just get somewhere and all have a better future.
.
