Our tax system and our leaders do not define prices. This is not soviet russia

Without immigration, combining that with a low birth rate the end result will be an ageing population, with a declining work force, and a reduced tax base. Under those circumstances it will be necessary to cut the 'Aged Pension' or introduce a 'Seniors National Service'. Upon reaching the age of 70, the new voluntary retirement age, which should be the allowable pension age regardless, "retirees" should be subjected to a physical fitness and general heath check. Those deemed "healthy" should be immediately, PUT TO WORK, earning their bread and butter! Those deemed "Fit As A Fiddle" could undertake 38 hours cashless work per week, a little weeding, a little pruning, a dab of painting here and there etc etc. Payment of course will be in the form of government food and clothing stamps redeemable at the government depots. Of course there will be a $20 cashless card for those hard workers for little treats of lollies and chocies. This should continue until the "retiree" reaches the age of 85, or is carted off to that "Forest Lawn" place beforehand.

Paul agree. The attitude of most here and in the mainstream neither understand demographics ex. imported ZPG nativism nor care about future generations, while many of their reps rabbit on about supposed family values, personal responsibility, children's future etc.

Regional centres the situation is stark, there is business but no working age to work, especially without backpackers, hence, cafes etc close early and/or have to close, accommodation providers cannot find cleaners etc.
