What a great civil rights campaigner Harry Belafonte has been.
He like many before him such as Paul Robeson, Barbara Stanwyck,John Garfield, made sacrifices to highlight the inequality that has continued in the United States and the likes of Codolesa Rice and Conal Powell have supported the very people that have continued with this enequality. It was Jack Kennedy that expected the black voters to vote for him and it was not until Harry Belafonte advised Jack Kennedy to speak to Martin Luther King did John Kennedy get the African american vote. Today we see mischevious leaders cleverly place minorities into the blame arena highlighting them for the countries ills that these very people have created. The Howard Government has been in office for eleven years and they fanfare that there is now a problem with child abuse. Boasting that the Government has hoarded money to the detriment of Education, Health and Safety now the Howard government finally want to throw money at the problem for a quick fix. The money that should have gone to Government Education and Health has gone to private insurance and sending our troops to war. Exactly the same bad policies have happened in the United States sending over three thousand young men to their deaths and many more mutilated to protect those that have been made richer due to the war on Iraq. The film Sicko highlights how Austalia is going the same way as America. Yet in Britain, Canada, Cuba and France Private Health is a dirty word and shameful. So thank you John Howard for hoarding all of that money to win an election for your dogmatic ideology while many Australians are now suffering because of youe incompetant policies.

African Americans who join the Republican Party become traitors to those that fought to abolish slavery. Conservative Politics is about making sure that it is easy to have wage slaves to employ labour as cheap as is humanly possible.

> African Americans who join the Republican Party become
> traitors to those that fought to abolish slavery.

You mean the Republican Party? The Party formed by anti-slavery activists? The political party of Abraham Lincoln? The one that passed the 13th amendment to the US constitution?

That Republican party?

Do not blacken those names by including Harry's he is a racist .
Have no doubt he in fact hates all whites, and racism is evil in any form.
Bronco dislike me as much as you like but I remain proud that so very long ago I grew out of the very left and its strange view of the world.
Harry sings well but is so very full of hate he wasts the air he breaths.

Who is Conan Powell? Or is it Conal Powell?

I can work out who Codolesa Rice must be, (I think), but Conan, or Conal Powell?

Could Bronco Lane mean Colin (pronounced 'coal-inn') Powell, the former US Secretary of State, and in his preceeding military career a former Chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in the US Defence Department?

If so, and if he has quoted Harry Belafonte correctly, then both are wrong to suggest Powell has any origins arising from a background of slavery. Just another unthinking sloganist's smearing label. If ever there was a good candidate for the US Presidency, it was Colin Powell.

If Bronco Lane was capable of listening, and doing his own thinking, at the time, he might have detected that had Colin Powell been able to be persuaded to run for that office, and won it, there may have been an whole different approach to the Iraq situation, and US foreign policy generally.

But then again, if one is too ignorant, lazy, or careless as to even the names of the people one is attempting to smear, one has to feel that it is just the sound of words being silently peeled from the page by the eyes of others that is the real turn-on.

In other words, this is just a racist rant. And what it has to do with Pauline Hanson deserving to be in gaol escapes me. Just about everyone knows Pauline Hanson was (improperly) gaoled because of a malicious prosecution brought by the major political parties and the Australian Electoral Commission acting in concert because she (and David Etteridge) had shown them all up over public funding for political parties at elections. See OLO article "Biggest Rort of all slips under the Radar" http://www.onlineopinion.com.au/view.asp?article=6191 and its thread http://forum.onlineopinion.com.au/thread.asp?article=6191 . It was plain straight dog-in-the-manger stuff. Pauline had taken THEIR funding! Bad, Mean, Rednecked Racist, Pauline!

Maaaate, with friends like Bronco Lane, Harry Belafonte sure don't need no enemies!

to be fair to dubya, he's an equal opportunity employer: if you are willing to kill people who have done you no harm, you can work for him.

america's 'national interest' needs killers, because 'their' oil is inconveniently under other people's land.

And when the black Americans outnumber the white Americans and maybe govern the country there will be total equality between the blacks and the whites? No. The ruling group will discriminate. It's is human nature.

well well it didn't take much to weed you all out.
Analising the bitter replies from every body and the track record of them all. I now see amongst you all. A trade union racist. A Christian racist and some that have come to some conclusion because they read nothing else than the West Australian and the Sunday Times. Harry Belafonte is a great man and speaks with wisdom.
I recollect Colin Powell telling us all sincerely that Iraq do have weapons of mass destruction. As a General he had no hesitation on dropping cluster bombs on innocent civilians with depleted uranium in their too. As a soldier he ordered some horrific acts on the orders of the political party he now represents. We all now find ourselves on the receiving end from a growing fanatical fundamentals which the United States have knowingly or unknowingly created. Our only problems was just Palestine during the eighties now it is Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Indonesia, Malaysia, Lebanon and growing. Bruce Courtney once said that their could be a hidden racial feeling in all of us if we detect it then we should all reject it. It is so basic to think or even spout racist views and it only shows others how basic you really are. We all have to condemn racism for what it is and to shame those that have the audacity to promote it. They have to be nipped in the bud otherwise these low life could quite easily create the same situation that has happened in Germany 1930-45 and South Africa up to 1990. Great people like Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King's sacrifices must not ever be forgotten

Bronco your self assurance is miss placed!
Do you not love the extreme left? they without fear drag the very things that once drove them into the mud!
Equality, a non racial world, the list is endless!
Me racist? good fun! lies and uninformed stupidity but fun.
Harry your racist mate was sitting quietly on his own and a great Australian of British birth went up to him to explain he had used a little known tune of Harry's to make a world wide hit.
Harry stoney faced refused to even look at him.
Other in short time explained Harry hates all whites IS RACIEST!
The Wil Robinson's of the left are committed to nothing!hate racism unless it is from there own.
How dare anyone put Harry in that list of mostly true campaigners?
I forever fight for workplace justice, but fight from mainstream ground not the lunatic left of reality.

I can not just leave it there the charge that I am racist if true would in my view make me worthless.
America is currently in my view in the hands of a very stupid man, but even then I know we owe a great deal to that country.
While the very left draw lists of wrongs, some I partly agree with who remembers the rebuilding of post ww1 and ww2 by America?
And why is the left silent on the life of females in Muslim country's?
Who in the left wants to explain why South Africa the home of one of my true hero's Nelson Mandela supports murder in Zimbabwe?
Am I about right in saying no more than 10% of us are extreme left?
NEVER hang that tag on Labor it is not true!
Then why the self righteous bleating we hear so often from a lost minority more intent on bleating that answers?

Its easy to see who got weeded out. It was Bronco Lane!

He has been moderated. Around 90% of his second post has disappeared into the nether wastes of cyberspace. De-ranted! No wonder he is bitter, Belly.

Actually, I was wondering what the two posting times were that were showing at the bottom of that post before it was removed. I found out on the "Pauline`s New Party - Have your Say" thread: Bronco has a post in that thread word for word as it was here. For those that are into masochism, here is the link: http://forum.onlineopinion.com.au/thread.asp?discussion=917#16652 . Very naughty Bronco, double posting like that! I think you have been smacked by the Big G.

I only comment because this badness of Bronco's has made a substantial amount of my post seem a non-sequitur and maybe even off-topic, and I wouldn't want that to be held against me. Ah, the perils of Pauline! What was that Gordy? Gordy says to say he is quite chuffed at seeing action taken that really count ...count ...count ...counts.

While we're on the topic of racism, Belly, shouldn't you have said in your first post "Do not WHITEN those names by including Harry's ......"?

I have had time to breath and think, it matters not but Paul Robson, hope that is the spelling is another of my true hero's.
He fought true racism but did it with class, his visit to workers building the Sydney Oprah house is still here some place.
Holding my hand up high I have a sin to admit, one of 16 kids I once thought the very left was my home.
Gee its out! I once was unable to see the very real damage done to those who needed help by the very left.
But do not worry growing out of it came early, thinking for myself came with it.
And to my ALP, now do not get me wrong once they fought the good fight almost alone but times change.
The lights on the hill burn no longer on Kero.
However the harvesting of idiotic ideas continues rent a crowd politics is not real politics.
Australians will never elect a true left party and who would want one?
