New Zealand has also been playing fast & lose with us.
They are importing Chinese food stuff banned here, doing some processing, them labeling it Product of New Zealand. It gets around our laws preventing unsafe Chinese produce coming in here, & makes them money. We can no longer consider NZ as a wholly trust worthy source. Aotearoa is a sovereign nation with excellent leadership under Jacinda Ardern, a woman who understands her nations place in the world. Rather than take the aggressive belligerent attitude Morrison has towards China, as ordered by the Trump administration, Ardern plots an independent diplomatic course for Aotearoa with the super power of our region. Foolishly Morrison thinks China should keep the Australian economy afloat whilst at the same time he engages in took-pick rattling towards our major trading partner.
ttbn, are you the un-named shock jock? Posted by Paul1405, Monday, 7 June 2021 5:49:23 AM

Hasbeen,
True. Particularly frozen vegetables. Birdseye is the only Australian brand. The Rosella brand of tinned goods has gone. Best tomato soup, which I thought could be replaced by Heinz. No: made in New Zealand. I can't say that it's definitely Chinese, but who knows with anything to do with NZ! New Zealand is on a par with PNG when it comes to China danger in the region. Newspoll: government vs opposition now 50:50, but with Albanese slipping further. If the ALP replaced him with Joel Fitzgibbon, Morrison would have to pull his finger out.

Pauliar,
Aotearoa is a name made up by a white colonist George Grey. And before covid, Jacinda after a series of blunders was behind in the polls and was likely to lose the next election. Labour cock-up of vaccinations and other policies are again slowly dragging her down in the polls. Posted by shadowminister, Wednesday, 9 June 2021 3:49:35 AM

George Grey made up Aetearoa, and shonkyminister made up George Grey made up Aetearoa. The word was derived from Maori mythology as the name given to the land by the Polynesian who first sighted it. But you stick with your little bit of nonsense, because you hate all indigenous people, and do your best to belittle them whenever you can, believing in "White Superiority" in all things in the way you do.
Again shonky is full of it. Labour/Greens lead the Nationals by a whopping 15% in political opinion polls in Aetearoa. Your man ScumO' despite all his advantages is neck and neck 50/50 with Labor in Australia. Posted by Paul1405, Wednesday, 9 June 2021 6:02:42 AM

Shadow Minister,
You are right in saying: "And before covid, Jacinda after a series of blunders was behind in the polls and was likely to lose the next election". The WuFlu has been a boon for incompetent politicians everywhere. Dumb voters actually believe that self-serving politicians are 'saving' them. The bewildering thing as that it seems to work for both sides of politics. Nutters like Ardern and, here at home, Andrews, What's his name in WA, and the Queensland woman, all returned to dictatorship by adoring constituents. On the other side, it will probably see Morrison remaining as PM after the next election. And the only thing, other than Albanese, he has going for him is the WuFlu. Actually, the Morrison government does have another thing going for it, raised again by the current hooha about a sick Tamil child.
The Tamil parents met in Australia after they came here on TEMPORARY protection visas. The TEMORARY visas expired, and their applications to stay were rejected. The had two children, even though the WERE TOLD THAT IT WOULD MAKE NO DIFFERENCE to their status. Children born in Australia to non-citizens have NOT been entitled to Australian citizenship since legislation was enacted in 1987 (Bob Hawke’s days). Therefore, in accordance with that law, the Tamils were to be deported. If it were not for a few idiot Australians in a little country town, egged on by Marxist rabble rousers in the wider community, the Tamils would getting on with their lives in the own country, not causing us huge costs and kerfuffle in our country. These people have no right whatsoever to remain in Australia. They should have been deported long ago. This is one case where the government has tried to do the right thing, only to be hindered by naive and emotional Australians, self-hating Australians, and some very dangerous activist Australians. There is talk that NZ might like to have them. Posted by ttbn, Wednesday, 9 June 2021 11:18:55 AM

Pauliar,
I see that you are reverting to sh1t throwing monkey as soon as your convictions are shown to be bollocks. https://www.newsroom.co.nz/aotearoa-whats-in-a-name "Maori appears not to have had a name for what is now called New Zealand. The North Island was Te Ika a Maui – the fish of Maui – and the South Island Tewaipounamu, or the rivers of greenstone. The latter also had other names in legend, including Te waka a Maui, or Maui’s canoe, from which he hauled up his great fish. The origins of Aotearoa are obscure. George Grey’s Polynesian Mythology, 1855 is sometimes credited with the first written use of the term when he recounted the legends of Maui, saying that the "greater part of his descendants remained in Hawaiki, but a few of them came here to Aotearoa... (or in these islands)". As to the show phoney Jacinda, 7 months prior to the last elections Labour was trailing the nationals, at the elections during covid Labour won with a 25% lead. 9 months later it has dropped to 15% and with more than 2 years to the next election, there is plenty of time for Jacinda to cock it up again. shonkyminister,
According to my wife, who would have more knowledge of things Maori in her little finger than a trumped up moron such as yourself would have in his whole body, assures me according to her Maori whakapapa the term Aotearoa has been in use long before the arrival of the Pakeha. snonkyminister, in a populist two party state, like Australia, America or Aotearoa where the two major parties are not too dissimilar in policy and outlook, it's an aberration for one to maintain a huge sway over the other. Such is the case in Aotearoa where Labour's 25% win at the last election cannot reasonably be maintained over time. I expect things will return to normal and the polls will at some stage reflect that. Posted by Paul1405, Wednesday, 9 June 2021 2:15:25 PM

Pauliar,
I'm surprised that your wife is that old to be around before civilisation came to New Zealand. Posted by shadowminister, Wednesday, 9 June 2021 2:23:14 PM

shonkyminister,
What do you understand the word "whakapapa" to mean in its broadest sense? If you can't answer that then your are talking from a position of ignorance. So you know nothing about the 'Battle of Waterloo' because you are still a wet behind the ears kid, and weren't there. Posted by Paul1405, Wednesday, 9 June 2021 3:40:51 PM

Pauliar,
Being Maori does not automatically imbue one with a detailed knowledge of New Zealand history. The term Aoteroa was fabricated by a white man that much is well known. The Maori at the time of settlement were split into various tribes and there was no single nation. The Tribes would fight each other slaughtering various villages and killing, enslaving or eating their opponents. During the Musket Wars, the Maori killed each other to the point that their population dropped by 1/3rd. The signing of the treaty giving sovereignty to the Queen was partly to protect Maori from eachother. Posted by shadowminister, Saturday, 12 June 2021 1:15:48 PM

So you say shonkyminister with your superior "Googling" skills. As usual you are full of it! My wife has studied the history of her people for something like 20 years of her life. Spending time as a teacher of the language, which she speaks fluently, and the history, to both Maori and European students. Now what are your qualifications in matter Maori? Something like those "Legal" qualifications you bang on about, non existent!

Pauliar,
So having studied Maori for 20 years and not knowing where the word Aotearoa originated, sounds like she wasted her time or is as dumb as you. Posted by shadowminister, Monday, 14 June 2021 4:48:52 AM

shonkyminister troll, most people know something, about something, some of the time, YOU manage to know nothing, about everything, all of the time. How do you do it? Just as you pontificated in the 'Beat Up' Bolt case that an arrest was imminent, WRONG. Then you recently made a fool of yourself by claiming 'Cry Baby' Porter was in for millions, an apology and ABC workers sacked, WRONG.
You have even gone as far as assuming the identity of another poster! Shameful! Posted by Paul1405, Monday, 14 June 2021 5:54:59 AM

Pauliar,
Not only are you dumb and ignorant, but you lie constantly and blatantly. Your claim that I said that the arrest of Bolt's attackers was imminent. LIAR As my claims WRT Porter, you are a LIAR again. You are a despicable fraud and as thick as a post. Posted by shadowminister, Monday, 14 June 2021 8:50:20 AM

ttbn- Thanks for the information on the Tamil story. But the Communists don't believe in national borders and call them racist.

Word play can be fun; it can also be used to bring attention to serious matters, such as socialist New Zealand's irresolute stance on China and its relationship with Australia. CNN has come up with an alternative name for NZ - "New Xi Land".
