There appears to be dismay in Somalia that South Australia is culling camels.

Should we send the unwanted camels to Somalia?

Do we care what they think in Somalia?

I have been led to believe that we actually export camels to places like Saudi Arabia because ours are better than theirs. If there's money in them, sell them. If they get to be a nuisance, cull them. People cause more problems in over-populated Australia than camels do; they put more strain on the environment and infrastructure.

Any advice from the Somalis on stopping mass immigration?.

Issy, as the newly appointed Australian representative of the Somaliland Camel Herders Association I believe it is your duty to accompany the said camels to Somaliland, where you should be domiciled for not less than five years, caring for, and managing your herd of new found friends.

Indy, we would have the Australian representative of the Somaliland Camel Herders Association Issy to ensure their well being, comfort amusement etc etc.

Camel joke and sex; I have jokes for all occasions.

Pierre joins the French Foreign Legion in the Sahara Desert.

After a while Pierre asks fellow Legionnaire Claude, "What does a bloke do to get a bit around here, I don't see any women?"

Claude replies; "Not a problem friend, once a month Abdul the camel herder appears on the top of the Big Sand Dune with his herd of camels, and calls out "Come and get it, plenty of camels for everyone!" So for a few francs the whole legion is satisfied...its not much, but its better than nothing."

Abdul arrives with his large herd of Camels as usual on top of the Big Sand Dune, calls out "Come and get it, plenty of camels for everyone!"

The whole legion takes of at a million miles an hour racing up the Big Sand Dune towards the camels. Claude is running as fast as he can. Pierre takes off and is running as fast as he can, next to Claude.

Pierre turns to Claude; "Claude... why are we running so fast... Abdul said there are plenty of camels for everyone!"

Claude; "WELL PIERRE, WHAT! YOU DON'T WANT TO GET AN UGLY ONE DO YOU...RUN FASTER!"

"Do we care what they think in Somalia?"
- Exactly -

Do you think we could send the Somalians back to Somalia instead?

Offer them as camel drivers and pay their fare on the transport.

If there's another camel cull here then it's not just the Somalis who are dismayed; I am too.
Camels are a resource - they should be sold, not wasted.

I accept the cull a few years ago was necessary because the number of camels, which had gone completely unchecked for decades, was causing great environmental problems and had to be dealt with quickly. It should not have been allowed to reach that stage, but it had.

I was under the impression the graziers had better management procedures now. Obviously not all of them have. So why the great failure?

One of the things that camels do, along with wild horses and donkeys, is move from one distant waterhole to another, after they have drunk all the water, fouled the area and eaten anything edible.

Native animals etc., that depend on the water hole but lack the ability to move over long distances, die.

The cull should continue till the last feral camel is killed, ditto for the horses and donkeys.

Paul1405,
I suppose culling Camels would be a tragic waste when even the toes would be of no use considering the sexual orientation of most Greenies ?

Indy, you keep going on about camels, I must question your sexual orientation? How are things up your tree? Any camels up there with you, maybe you have a harem of camels in your tree, all to satisfy your every desire.

Indy, I got your camel toe joke, but unfortunately it received a "Lead Balloon" award.

A little variation on an elephant joke;

What did Tarzan say when he saw the camels coming over the hill?

"HERE COMES THE CAMELS OVER THE HILL!"

What did Tarzan say when he saw the camels coming over the hill, wearing sunglasses?"

You guessed it! Tarzan didn't didn't say anything....HE DIDN'T RECOGNISE THEM!.... Yep, Tarz wasn't all that bright!

How about letting the Camels live & prevent the pseudo intellectuals from breeding instead ?
It'd be way more beneficial to Australia !
