To Philip.

How would you suggest the billionaires be abolished? Is it a maximum amount of money a person can earn sort of thing? After that all money needs to be donated, or otherwise will be taken away? It sounds simular communism. Don't trust that to follow through that well. If it's something different then restrictions on earnings, how would it be regulated so that billionaires are abolished?

One issue with the idea of abolishing billionaires is that they can just move away. And with that take their wealth with them and potentially their industry as well (though they might leave their businesses and just move out of the country so that their wealth can still come to them from the businesses they own).

Just some thoughts to consider. Though I get your intent on fairness that one person can have so much and another will have nothing at all. But I don't think this kind of idea will do anything except draw anger towards the rich. It won't help the poor. If it's to better the poor, or help any other economic status between poor and super rich, there has to be incentives besides frustrations on how unfair it is.

Perhaps there could be something that was instituted at the same time as the regulations against being a billionaire. Something to encourage more jobs and make it easier to start and maintain a thriving business. That way even if billionaires leave, the damage isn't as crippling.

(On the other hand if people could start their businesses without as much risk, and there were more jobs to make money, them no one would care as much about the billionaires. Because they're making it on their own as well).

Billionaires don't cause a fraction of the problems that insanely overpaid bureaucrats create.
Get rid of them !

The wealth that Billionaires have created, has created employment [wealth for the workers]. Name one in Western society that hasn't been a creator of better conditions or employment. The creation of wealth is an incentive to work and create desired goods.

Why stop at billionaires? What about trillionaires?

Money makes the world go around. It can corrupt, buy
political power, silence dissent, and serve primarily to
perpetuate even greater wealth often unrelated to any
reciprocal social good.

Should the ultra rich exist with their current global-
swallowing power?

Inequality is the defining economic condition of our tech
age. Lets face it - software by its very nature drives
concentrations of wealth through network effects in
which the very popularity of a service ensures that it
keeps getting more popular. A few superstar
Corporations account for the bulk of American Corporation
profits. Also the future lies with Artificial Intelligence
that will further create new industries.

The ball will continue to spin.

It'salso worth thinking about the positive changes that can be accomplished - Bill and Melinda Gates and Warren Buffet on Polio.

Hand that money over to a whole lot of people who each have a little extra and the power for coordinated focus goes away.

I'm personally quite a fan of what Elon Musk is trying to achieve on a number of fronts.

It's not a clean issue but worth considering the upsides.

Our Public Service costs too much in comparison to what it delivers !
