Irony; for those that bemoan the relatively small contribution made by the taxpayer towards the performing arts should note the AJC pays a "peppercorns" rent to the people of New South Wales for Randwick racecourse! In 2008 the State government extended the lease for another 99 years! Where else in Sydney could you obtain a 99 year lease from the State at a peppercorns rent. On the light fail (laughingly called the light rail project), the AJC made certain not a blade of grass on Randwick racecourse was disturbed for the disastrous project. It seen to it that the construction tore up both Alison and Wansey Roads instead. Its okay with the extra business the light rail will bring its way.
As for Alan Jones, there is that much dirt on Jones out there, but no one will dare say anything for fear that Jones will sue the arse off em', sue the arse off em'... ha ha. How old is Jones, 77? His epitaph should make interesting reading.
