Anyone who even noticed George Christensen's Dirty Harry parody would have thought it was mildly amusing, juvenile or not worth thinking about. But the Greens had to run to the AFP like mewling kiddies. The AFP, as would be expected do not intend to take the matter any further - after a waste of their time and resources.

It speaks volumes for the mentality of the jerk himself. To think the bloke sits in our Federal Parliament. The blokes an idiot, and demonstrates that ever time he opens his mouth.
He's in good company with the likes of Bonking Barney, and the rest of the National misfits. Posted by Paul1405, Saturday, 10 March 2018 7:03:57 AM

This thread is not about Christensen; it's about the Greens.

But Paul gave a good description of a lot of the Greens.

ttbn, in your ideal state, the police would be kept busy checking paperz, detaining "suspects", keeping on top of "law and order", or is that a secret (police) matter.
That GC jerk reminds me of some kind of Fat Albert fool. Of course if it was on a lefty website, that would be a different john dory, ttbn and the Usual Suspects, GC included, would be jumping up and down demanding police action. BTW, weren't you all for police action when Beat Up Bolt staged his own assault. Now that was a waste of copper time, they could have been out there being usful, giving a kicking to the heads of peaceful protesters, and not bothering with a fellow traveler in Bolt. Issy, what about those pair of galah's in the NSW Parliament from the Shooters and Hooters Party, the Two Bobs, Tweedle Dumb and his sidekick Tweedle Even Dumber. they are always demanding police action to protect peaceful gunnie hoons. Hows things these days with Wild Shot Willy, and Blast Em' Billy, are they still playing shoot em ups at their Dodge City fun park HQ in the central west? Yes, Is Mise. I have nothing against Paul, but the Greens seem to think that 'it's all about moi'. Given their extremely low popularity in the polls and at election times, it's hard to work out why they feel that way. Their candidate for Batman looks like one of those grim old biddys from Stalin's days. They haven't got the message that it helps to put up people who at least look presentable.

Dear Paul1405,
It really is the over the top wannabees like Joyce and Christensen who we need to rein in. Joyce was a bloody accountant for goodness sake and while Christensen may have come from a family of cane growers he certainly didn't want a bar of that kind of life. In fact after brief flirtation with becoming a catholic priest he proceeded to tick all the boxes the right-wing typically loved to hate. He did an Arts Degree majoring in Journalism, became a political staffer in De-Anne Kelly's office and started a couple of community newspapers. He fully understands what it takes for a back bencher to get media exposure and he plays that game for all it is worth. His various stunts are well thought out and his Clint Eastwood impression rolled out when Barnaby was getting hammered was of course designed to take heat from his leader. He knew the image was likely to cause a strong reaction and would have been happy to see it referred to the police by the people he was targeting. He is not a country lad made good but rather a political hack with an Arts Degree who has obviously overly enjoyed wining and dining with power brokers from politics and business. He playing a character, little of it real, but one that simple minds embrace. He is the one who should be held to account for any waste of police time because his actions were far below what any normal person should expect from their politicians. He might be good for the occasional laugh but he really is a shocker. Posted by SteeleRedux, Saturday, 10 March 2018 12:51:54 PM

Paul,
Would you care to tell us all about the times that the SF&F Party MPs have lied to Parliament, about the times that they have refurbished perfectly good offices at the tax-payers expense, have underpaid their staff or have gone overseas on tax-payers money to undermine Australia? Tell you what; for every wrongdoing that you can sheet home to the SF&F MPs, I'll give you two for the Greens. Posted by Is Mise, Saturday, 10 March 2018 12:57:01 PM

Thanks Steele, did you say Gorgeous George came from a family of cane toads? I certainly see the family resemblance.

Is Mise,
When voters are unhappy with the major parties they are looking to give their vote to someone else. Enter the Greens, the Independents, et al. Posted by Foxy, Saturday, 10 March 2018 2:49:40 PM

The demographic of the greens is young and naive. It's sweet really!

dd,
Statistically, young people are not interested in politics, and there are no figures suggesting that those who do take an interest are into the Greens. Ideas that they are could be based on assumption made because of the juvenile attitudes of the Greens. People jaded by Liberal/Labor have other places to go these days. Look at the sour old trout standing in Batman. Look at di Nasty, old before his time due to nasty thoughts and a miserable outlook. Even Bandt has a permanent old man scowl. Then there's battleaxe overseas trying to run kangaroo meat exports. The Greens couldn't raise a laugh to save their lives. No place for young people, who actually seem to enjoy life. Foxy,
"When voters are unhappy with the major parties they are looking to give their vote to someone else. Enter the Greens, the Independents, et al." That's precisely why John Tingle started the Shooters' Party, supporters of the Libs and the Country parties, who were also gun owners/shooters were annoyed at the knee-jerk reactions of the Coalition and particularly of the sellout by the Country Party, the Country Party was almost wiped out as a result. The SF&F Party is without blemish in their carrying out of their Parliamentary duties and their obligations to their constituents and to the voters at large. Paul, Put up or shut up. The Shooters' Party still exists, does it? We don't have such things in straight-laced SA; we prefer to vegetate and get the dropkicks we deserve.
I recall seeing on TV a politician from the SP taking an anti-shooting madwoman out pig shooting. I enjoyed the way he dealt with her. Posted by ttbn, Sunday, 11 March 2018 9:59:49 AM

ttbn,
It's now known as The Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party and it has 3 MPs in NSW, 2 in Victoria and 1 in WA. None of the MPs have ever been tainted by any allegations of corruption, misuse of public money, under payment of staff or any of the other things that some other politicians get up to. They are all honest men who do a good job. Posted by Is Mise, Sunday, 11 March 2018 8:49:23 PM

The Australian chapter of the foreign NRA is funneling cash into the pockets of right wing Australian political parties, in an attempt to bring in American style "no gun laws" to this country. Shameful!
"Australian Electoral Commission returns show that since 2010 the state branches of the Sporting Shooters Association of Australia have poured $440,800 into supporting the KAP, the Shooters Fishers and Farmers party and the Liberal Democratic party among others." Where is the dosh coming from? Posted by Paul1405, Monday, 12 March 2018 5:44:38 AM

They are all honest men who do a good job.// Or they just haven't been caught yet. They're politicians, so I know which one I consider more likely. Posted by Toni Lavis, Monday, 12 March 2018 7:04:31 AM

There is an "Australian chapter" of the NRA? What is KAP? Wouldn't the "dosh" be coming from SSAA members? I reckon Paul is an American plant, spelling 'channelling' the American way (missing an 'l' as he does.

Toni,
I know four of them and of that four, two are personal friends of long standing and I can vouch for their integrity. Paul, "The Australian chapter of the foreign NRA is funneling cash into the pockets of right wing Australian political parties, in an attempt to bring in American style "no gun laws" to this country. Shameful! " Care to back up your Green slur with a reference or two? How about answering my challenge, two for one, or are you scared? Where does the money come from? From the members' donations and range fees as well as merchandising. If you divide the $440,800 that you mention by the 187,000 members, that's $2.36 per member. Unlike Gun Control Australia, membership numbers of the SSAA is not a secret, disbursements are not secret and nor is income. Just as a matter of interest; how many members do the Greens have? Yeah, I'm sure every politician, even Greens politicians, have mates that will vouch for their 'integrity'. That's what mates are for, and I think your loyalty to your friends is commendable. They're still politicians. Posted by Toni Lavis, Monday, 12 March 2018 9:07:02 AM
