As AJPhillips is want to demand “references” …here goes.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazism

http://ratical.org/ratville/CAH/fasci14chars.html

Let’s compare the meerkats as they say. The Libs score a whopping 12 out of the 14 identified hallmarks above.

LNP = Lying Nazi Parasites & ALP = Another Liberal Party

Both parties are up to their necks in the Manus Island fiasco, and it is up to the Australian government to get the detainees out safely, irrespective of their hand-balling the matter. Manusians have had enough, paid pittances doing the same jobs FIFO ex pats were paid salaries exceeding $150k p.a. & more, living in air con accommodation. Bill Short Circuit has progressively hosed down unionism, to the point of almost no representation at mine sites, construction sites and places of work. Fuhrers Howard/Abbott did their best with Work Choices and Fair Work Commission, with Albanese the only consistent ALP voice of dissent.

Australian politics and the 2 party abused system with it’s preferential voting system have had their day and it is past time another method was used.

Australians as usual will whinge when petrol goes up by 20 cents a litre, or their favourite packet of coffin nails goes up to $30, but by and large they/we are apathetic.

Why waste 3 minutes at the polling booth (actually) thinking about who you're voting for, the direction they will take your country and all the implications it involves ?

Hi Cherful, I'm very new to this but your post made so much sense to me.

You are so right, though I know it's too late, when you said 'instead of foreign aid the governments should have put that money aside for the aging population. The ageing population has now aged and there appears to be no money for the pensions they were all expecting

Moonshine,
Welcome to online opinion.
It is good always to have new people on board to
debate some of the issues raised on online opinion.

There are some good honest opinions posted and some
interesting and never dull characters. The debates can get feisty
but that just makes it more enjoyable. We have some who strongly believe
in conspiracy theories. Some sweeties and some quite hard-headed characters.
But all add an interesting mix to the conversation.
All the best with your future posts and look forward to reading your opinions on
online opinion.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm finding the posts extremely interesting but keep looking for the like button. :) Is there an easier way to reply to particular comments?

What a bunch of miserable old codgers.

We are one of the wealthiest nations by per capita in the world but a give a touch over a quarter of a percent of our GDP in aid to developing countries. Countries like the UK give nearly 3 times as much in percentage terms. Even countries like Turkey manage to double our figure.

We have so much to be thankful for in this country we should be capable of giving more. I hardly ever take out a tatts ticket because I firmly believe that we have won life's lottery simply by an accident of birth. We have been allowed to live in a beautiful part of the world mostly safe from the violence of war and poverty.

Yet you lot sit there and whinge away. If you think there is not enough funds to assist pensioners then speak out about the corporate tax cuts this government is preparing to deliver. Or speak out about their limp-wristed attempts to make multinational corporations pay their fair share.

In truth there is not much chance of that happening is there.

Sorry, but it is our money after all and people feel like a whinge on how it's spent then that's fair enough as far as I can figure out. Foreign aid rarely gets to where it's supposed to go anyway.'
The people of Africa for instance, have been starving since I was a child..my mother used to tell me so...and I'm in my 60's!

I can't seen anything wrong in wanting Australia to be even richer..and it would be if it weren't for the billions governments waste on garbage
