A male slave has escaped and the hunt is on to return him to his owner. Sometimes there is enforced detention for the individual's good or for biting post-men. But this case is a sad reflection on the the nature of freedom and public acceptance of slavery.

Only if the oppressed mouse or bird are property of the zoo. I'm not stupid. In the wild the laws of South Australia don't apply to the free residents. Of course by mistaken identity a free owl could be captured instead of the slave . Then a lengthy legal process must be endured to establish the facts. You know that.

Slave isn't the worst of it. The bird has been held since it was a fledgling...clearly a member of the stolen gen-owl-ation. It merely took flight in order to find its birth mother and reclaim its lost heritage.

Whatismore, calling it a SOOTY owl is an obvious dog-whistle to the racists in our midst.

NO there are no records of SA Police Officers arresting rabbits. You must be thinking of Victoria: " Alleged driver of stolen car ‘ran like rabbit’ before citizen’s arrest

MARGARET LINLEY, Geelong Advertiser
November 2, 2015 10:34am

“We were fortunate it didn’t result in serious injury or death,” Sgt Taylor said. Homeowners, Andrew and Kathleen Rawson said they heard a loud screech of brakes and a series of thuds. “That’s when I knew the car was stolen,’’ she said. “The little devil. They both ran like rabbits.”

"To the ancient Greeks owls were symbols of wisdom, so it was fitting that the creature turned up inside the University of Adelaide grounds on Thursday evening.

"He was found sitting by the cloisters of Adelaide University having a doze in the late afternoon sun," Adelaide Zoo's Nicholas Bishop said." _ABC News a left-wing news source with wide coverage which failed to contact the Adelaide University Lecturer:

It was a brave attempt by Mr Oscar to return to his family tree and tonight he is again unfree after twice being shackled.
