i am thinking about creating some original sneakers for children, hand painted, good quality, and i would like some general feedback on this. anything from some good feedback if you will think they would sell, to the price you would sell it for would be helpful. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I have a four year old girl and I know she would love shoes with ballerina's on them. I think they would sell. I probably wouldnt pay anymore than $20.00 for them though.

I think that something different in te market is always welcome.

Perhaps if you make a small amount first, to see how it goes, you can build it up from there if there's interest.

Price is perhaps a problem- because kids grow so fast, most parents don't want to spend too much on shoes.

Are you planning to sell the shoes yourself or through a shop?

I do like the idea of ballet shoes as well. (little butterflies or fairies?)

When my kids were small, we used to decorate shoes and tshirts- they used their own designs and they were very proud to wear them.

I think any designs attractive to kids will be loved.

Shoe shops [and many other retail outlets] have a huge mark-up. You would almost certainly price yourself out if you tried to sell this way.

Check out your local weekend markets and see what's on offer. I often walk around our Sunday morning market and I don't recall seeing anything like that. It sounds to me like the kind of thing which children would love and kids have a way of getting around parents, as long as the price is reasonable.
