I didn't realise maps had such a long history. 85,000 years. And indisputably Chinese ? What, before people had even left Africa ? I wonder how you could tell that a scratch-mark on a stone was Chinese: which Chinese ? Two thousand years ago, there were a hundred warring kingdoms, each aspiring to be 'China'. But 83,000 years before that, it had already been decided which kingdom would be 'China'? In writing ? You learn something every day.

The incompetence of the Rudd/Gillard government in piling on the debt needlessly while relevant, is not the main point I was trying to make.

China's internal problems are beginning to mount, and the only ones that can be blamed are those permanently in power. I believe that China's sudden expansionist interest in the South China sea is to rouse patriotic feelings of us vs them, and the total slap down of China has worsened this by making them lose face.

The question is whether China will risk conflict with the US and its neighbours?

Do we really, honestly trust economic figures that come from Chinese communist government?? or did we all just come down in the last shower?
