Should we move towards an international language?

I doubt there's anything anyone can do about it. The people will decide. A century from now everyone will understand english, though some may still choose not to use it. And it will be very different from the english of today.

A side effect of english becoming the international language (but not actually having achieved that status yet) is that it encourages migration to english speaking countries.

A point I forgot to make is that Esperanto is an ideal inter language
for translation programs.
The program could use the rules of the source language to translate
to Esperanto with its strict rules and then translate to the object
language from Esperanto.

This technique is similar to what a number of computer compilers do to
get from source code to machine code.
