Hi i am a student and currently studying in Taylors college university. I am taking law as one of my subject and i'm doing a research on this topic "Is divorce easy to obtain?". I would be very grateful to find some useful information for my research.

Is divorce actually easy to obtain? I think that it is hard because there are so many implications in the process of it. Such as, those with children need to have a parenting plan before they can be legally divorced. Moreover, property settlement is another hassle. What do you think?

Divorce is easy to obtain in Australia. It simply requires that the marriage is irretrievably broken down. This can be established by 12 months separation. The separation can include some time back together and can occur in the same house.

The process is easy and many people do it themselves. Issues of property and children can be difficult if there is a high level of conflict. However the court provides ample opportunity for agreement between the husband and wife.

It depends on your perception. I think it is $500 odd dollars plus lawyer cost if you use a lawyer.

If there is a bunfight about children or property the sky as they say Iis the limit I believe.
