And as an ardent advocator of a strong rule of law and effective policing and punishment/rehabilitation regimes, I find this gravely unfortunate.

So with respect to the Rose issue (and many others), I hear the news and hardly react at all, because I just don’t have any faith in what I am hearing or in the judgement or the apparent evidence behind it.

For STG who is nosey, I will answer your request. What does Merri Rose have over Peter Beattie? Peter Beattie had an affair. Guess who Peter Bettie had the affair with??... Yep Merri Rose! This is information from a top cop, with a very reliable source. No wonder it is hush hush...who would sleep with Merri Rose..or Peter Beattie for that matter??

I wonder if she went down as fast as the Titanic? Or if Beattie yelled out "woooooo, I'm king of the world!"?
