hi guys. my name is kristy and i reside in queensland australia. i was diagnosed withtype II bipolar when i was 13 years old. i am currently in my third year of uni to become a nurse and believe me everyday is a bigger challenge. so when i was asked conduct a research article i knew exaclty what to do it. my question is Do australian bipolar sufferers feel that their friends and family have enough knowledge of their illness. Support grows from understanding and i know that with out my parents support i would be dead my now. in order for people to release how important psychoeducation is, it is up to us, the sufferers to prove how important it is. Please answer the following four questions relating to the topic and please dont feel that you can only place a one word answer as the more information i gather, the more accurate my report will be:
1.Do you feel you receive enough support from your friends and family?
2. Do you think your friends and family have enough understanding of your illness ie do they know enough about bipolar?
3. Do you think your friends and family need more education and if so what kind?
4. Do you feel that you would benefit from your friends and family having a greater understanding of your illness
Please email your answers to me at kristymarshall@dodo.com.au. this is more beneficial but if it is at your convenience to repost your answers i will try to find them. Thanks everyone. this is a big help
