To Andrew Bolt

Just watched your show this morning and Ive got to say absolutely brilliant.
Pure comedic genius.
I havent laughed so much since the election debates.
When you accused Bill Shorten of negativity and just saying no to everything I almost wet my pants laughing. So funny.
Your delivery with that deadpan voice and (in)sincere anguish is just perfect.
Your sketch about abbott and his daughters was just hilarious because its true. Saying that families should be kept out of politics then showing all those publicity shots the rabbott used of them to get elected. Total satirical mastery. LOL

They say laughter is the best medicine and although im not sure it will be enough to cure the sickness that lies at the heart of the lieberal party you keep it up bolty. You should get comedian of the year for todays effort.

There is much to laugh about at the moment, there is a continuous feed of comedy coming out of parliament every day.
One minute joe is not compromising and then he says he will only compromise on the amount.
Tony has got to front the estimates committee to explain the duplications in the budget, you may as well ask donald duck to explain it for him, it would make more sense.
Tony is not game to go to Indonesia or geelong, could get his sole re drilled.

Ending the age of entitlement has been a catch cry, yet the daughter of a wealthy politician gets awarded a 60k scholarship.

I understand there is amongst the Political class a sense of entitlement "nepotism".

The Carbon Tax that Abbott promised he would “immediately” legislate against still remains in place with no legislation raised yet.

By my calculations, we are around 28% of the way through Abbott's term as Prime Minister and still what he promised to do immediately has not come into effect, nor does it seem to be on the horizon as we head towards the one year mark.

Given that Abbott has not included income from the Carbon Tax in his budget, I have a hunch that he is glad to see it stay in place so that the Coalition can sneak themselves into a surprise surplus on the back of an outright lie just in time for the next election.

If the boats have stopped, then where did this boat come from? Coober Pedy?

Admittedly it does seem that the boats have slowed down, or perhaps it is that we just don’t hear about them anymore due to the censorship of information from Scott Morrison, who gets his approach to transparency direct from North Korea.

Let’s, just for the sake of argument, assume the boats have slowed down.

I’m pretty sure if I were to tell a policeman that I slowed down to 40kmh when I went through a red light, it would not get me out of a ticket and a fine.

Nor do I hear of doctors asking nurses to slow the bleeding down so the patient bleeds slowly to death, rather than straight away.

That is because slowing and stopping are two different things.

Apparently, that was on an episode of Play School Tony Abbott and Scott Morrison must have missed.

Abbott has broken virtually every one of his promises related to the cost of living, welfare and the tax system.

For six years, getting rid of their utterly irrational anti-Australian — indeed, anti-every Australian — carbon tax, has to be the Prime Minister’s absolutely first and non-negotiable order of business.
Indeed, if necessary, the Prime Minister has to be prepared to sacrifice some and even all the Budget initiatives, if that proves to be the price for getting rid of the tax.

It is that important for the future of the country. Better no carbon tax and an “unrepaired budget,” than the opposite.

Now, in a rational world, abolishing the carbon tax should be a done deal; and a deal completely separate from the wheeling and dealing that Tony Abbott faces over the Budget, to put together different Senate majorities for each specific budget proposal.

Now we have two carbon taxes, it's hard to know what this bloke wants. Butch was worried about the carbon tax being extended to fuel, but now i suppose it's ok.
You have to be badly embedded to go along with this fiasco, after what we were told, and promised. But to see an only budget alternative of raising more revenue by dismantling the lifestyle of the very people you represent is unbelievable.
Pushing costs onto states without consultation is in no ones interests. Abbott is untenable.

579,
At this stage most boats are still crewed by Labor voters so, give it time.

Bolt certainly has a knack of highlighting the hyprocrisy of the left in no uncertain terms. In typical leftist fashion he is mocked because he wins most arguements. Truth and the left generally are very good partners. When you see the smirking faces of the likes of Tony Jones and Marr you realise he has far more to say than his mockers.

Truth and the right are not even related, let alone partners. Abbott says one thing and does the opposite, now that is not bad, not everybody can do that. Some have a conscience and some have nothing.
This is the worst selection in history, and albeit based on lies. What makes it worse they can't admit is they made some mistakes.
Abbott says before the election there will be no changes to super, joe says there will be changes to super this term of parliament. Is this something abbott's office knows about but not telling anybody else about. Maybe it doesn't matter it's only one more ----.

Yes I find the Bolt report highly amusing.

I particularly like it now Labor have decided they must try to counter it by joining in. I really like that look of a startled rabbit caught in the headlights of a 10 ton truck, on the faces of the Labor panelists, when he hits them with another question they didn't expect & can not answer, or more likely, really don't want to.

It is no longer them rabbiting on Abbott Abbott Abbott, now it's But But But.

I also really enjoyed the interviews with Richardson. Richo was obviously so disgusted with the clowns running Labor these days, he could not hide it, try as he might.

Wow they just keep getting funnier.
Prissy pyne just stood up in parliament and accused a labor frontbencher of "shrieking unpleasantly". Coming from parliaments chief shrieker it is just comedy gold.
Satire seems to be all the Lieberal party has left.

When you consider that the national debt as at September 2013 when the Coalition came to power was just $284 billion, you can see the problem. Joe doesn’t want to see that figure climb up to $600+ billion on his watch. What a dilemma; how to keep the economy growing and not continue to borrow; how to make those horrible debt projections go away. It would be easy to blame Labor all the way through to 2017. If you hear anyone on the government side say Labor left them with a $600 billion debt, this is how they arrived at that figure. They are talking about the projected debt for 2017, but I doubt blaming Labor will wash with the electorate.

Yep you are right about one thing 579. Labor can count all those too dumb to see the trap labor left with locked in future expenditure, along with all those who can't add 2+2, as voters.

It's the pied piper all over again, except Labor followers are blind as well as dumb.

Abbott says we have 600 billion worth of projected debt. Surely there is someone out there that can tell us what he is talking about. I would hate to think this is just more lies. All he says is figures but we have never heard of what this debt consists of.

South Australian Liberal leader Steven Marshall cancelled a trip to New Zealand after the bombshell announcement.

He has branded the move ‘an act of political treachery’ and his former counterpart a traitor.

“Martin Hamilton-Smith should hang his head in shame,” Mr Marshall said.

“Martin sat in Shadown Cabinet yesterday - no inkling - he sat there and spoke to various papers, privy to all our party strategies.

“It is a massive act of betrayal against the Liberal party.”

Premier Jay Weatherill said having Mr Hamilton-Smith in Cabinet was in the best interests for South Australia.

“We know he is hard-working and he has been well regarded by industry and by all sides of politics since being elected to Parliament in 1997,” Mr Weatherill said.

Tax the dead. Pyne and Hockey want to chase hex debts after death, but Abbott says that won't happen. Are you going to believe that.
Abbott, Pyne, and Hockey are all unelectable. Who does that leave for a replacement PM. Turnbull or Bishop. Both have extreme faults.

When Julia Gillard implemented a levy to help out the people of Queensland after a natural disaster, Abbott called it a tax. In fact Abbott referred to virtually any rise in the cost of living as some sort of tax from Julia Gillard.

However when Abbott introduces what he would formerly call a tax, he calls it a 'Temporary budget repair levy'. But no matter what Abbott and Hockey desire to call it, most of us call it a broken promise.

I also note that this – the only part of the budget that has the rich 'sharing the pain' – has the word 'Temporary' in its title. Noticeably, there are no 'temporary cuts to welfare, the pension, education or health — only the new tax for those on a stratospheric $180,000 a year.

On top of the 'Temporary budget repair levy', we have a hike in the fuel excise. That is a tax rise no matter how you look at it.

Also we will now have a surcharge to go to the doctor, because apparently the country can’t afford for everyone to have free medical care.

Funny, I seem to recall paying a Medicare levy out of every pay cheque, which in my mind means I’ve paid for my medical needs.

As Treasurer Joe Hockey finally conceded on Q&A on Monday night there are new taxes and tax rises in this budget — though he calls them a "rabbit". OK...
